Abby Griffin

There's this thing in The 100 fic where Abby is the villain. In the romance framework she's the obstacle to overcome. She's the controlling mother who wants to micromanage Clarke's every move, disapproves of her choice in lover, is a consummate politician at the exclusion of everything else, and is always angling for some agenda. Appearances are everything to her. She cold and difficult, and a pain in everyone's ass.

I know in fic this happens because parents are a natural stumbling block for romance plots. But honestly, Abby is none of those things.
