Not going to be too in-depth because I'm not feeling great, but I did like this episode. It sets a lot of things up that will fall out over the rest of the season.
* Most important thing - INDRA IS ALIVE!
* Pike the Chancellor is still awful, and the worst scene was when he imprisoned all the grounders and Lincoln too. Everything just felt so helpless and awful.
I also felt bad for Otan when he got shot basically for being a grounder.
Though with Jaha's return, and the political tables turned, I'm actually feeling like I'd be okay with Jaha doing terrible things on Pike's watch? Ugh, I don't like Pike.
And gotta give Jaha props for being a master people handler with getting himself an in by going for the religious angle, and knowing when to plant seeds, and when to push, and when to back off. I actually am finally interested in him again and what's going to happen with the Alie storyline. Now that Raven's involved, I'm in.
* And Raven, you know, I don't fault her one bit for trying something to make her pain go away. Chronic pain is awful, and what I live with is nowhere near what she lives with. I'm really curious how it's all going to fall out because we know Raven isn't going to take none of Alie's bullshit.
* Abby and Kane leading the French Resistance! Not gonna lie, I love that Octaiva is Kane's lieutenant. That he's still working on peace through his own means. That Octavia doesn't get sidelined but goes out to mer Indra - still cares about Indra and that she's okay. She still considers herself a grounder, or something in between, and she won't let Bellamy try to talk her out of it "for her own good."
The fact that Bellamy feels like she needs protecting should tell him that he knows things aren't all right with Pike.
Octavia smuggling Clarke in. Octavia rescuing her and getting her out. After the acrimony between them at the end of last season, it's so good to see them working together. I wonder if they'll be friends again? I want the awkward conversations where they reach back for each other, the two girls in two worlds, because Clarke is as much in the grounder world now as Octavia is.
* God, that scene between Bellamy and Clarke was so good, and so hard, and so so much everything. Two people who love each other but hurt each other deeply, and want things to be okay but they can't be because they've just chosen sides. It's going to take a while for them to come back to each other, land please show, let them be friends again in the end. A painful journey is fine, but don't let them end here. I don't think they will, but still.
So Bellamy is firmly in the "I just did horrible stuff, I need to justify that is was right to live with myself" stage. He's dug in deep, and of course he doesn't listen to Clarke, no after she abandoned him. Part of him knows Pike's no good -- he went too far, he's worried about Octavia, he doesn't want Lincoln hurt. But he's not in a place he can get away from that yet.
I wasn't surprised when he cuffed Clarke. A little heartbroken, because the two of them hurting and angry and both of them right in their own way, but not surprised.
* Clarke convincing Lexa not to retaliate gave me flashes of her asking the same thing of her before Finn died. Only this time, Lexa listens, and isn't resigned to being who they are. Lexa had a dazzling display of power last episode, and she's going to drag her people into a new way whether they want to go or not.
This can only end badly.
* Murphy and Emori are still my new favorites. But now I'm wondering - sacred symbol on Alie's stuff? What's that mean.
I didn't see the episode yet but I read the reviews and Tumblr. And I'm in love with this episode already.
Bellamy however...I liked him once. But after this....nothing can justify his actions. He has proven himself unfit to command. His blaming Clarke makes it worse. Is she his babysitter or her own person? Let him learn something from her and from his (Incredible) little sister how to behave. He is a grownup-act like it. He is not the only one that had a hard time there.
Yeah. I really don't like him now. Too much of a victim-abuser. I have enough of it in real life thanks to my family. So zero tolerance here.
Lexa....the more I see her...the more I love her. She is incredible. And I can't get enough of her and Clarke together. They electrify the air around them.💜
